Dear reader,
It feels as though things are starting to happen on Stream Street. Last week we told you that The Gazette had finally found a home. This week, there was another reason to gather on the street, as the first shop officially opened its doors.
The honour of being first goes to The Gin Shop by InterGin. There was even a ribbon to cut, with the Mayor kindly saying a few words before declaring the shop officially open. It wasn't a grand affair by any means, but there was a warm round of applause and more than a little excitement knowing there were complimentary gin and tonics waiting afterwards.
The timing couldn't have been better, as this month's Gin Club boxes were already lined up ready for dispatch. By the time you read this, many of them will already be making their way to homes around the country.
Watching the Gin Shop officially open, before seeing those first gin club boxes leave the street, made us stop for a moment. For months we've been watching Stream Street take shape. Now it feels just a little more like a genuine little high street, with its first shop serving its first customers.
It may only be one shop, but every high street has to begin somewhere. Before long, we hope the place will start to feel properly lived in, with plenty more stories waiting just along the street.
Yours sincerely,
